Simon recently joined Sanford Legal, and specialises in the areas of Personal Injury Compensation and Commercial Litigation (specially Defamation).

Simon has a wide breadth of Legal experience, having run his own legal practice in the Sydney CBD for more than 10 years, followed by 5 years working for personal injury firms in Newcastle. He was also a member of the Australian Army Reserves (Infantry Corps) for 10 years, obtaining his Officer's Commission in 1990. A member of Law Society of NSW and the Australian Lawyers Alliance, Simon has been practicing law for almost 20 years and is a productive and experienced solicitor.

Simon's skills lie in quickly analysing complex legal issues, applying his legal knowledge and resolving problems swiftly, while keeping the lines of communication open with his clients.
A good listener, Simon's experience running his own business has resulted in the ability to relate to people from all walks of life. He has conducted matters for many non-English speaking clients who have suffered incident.

Simon has worked on many high profile cases, including Wynn v GIO, a Compensation matter where Simon acted for Mrs Wynn from her trial in the district court, all the way up to the High Court of Australia (where she was successful in holding onto a damages verdict in excess of a million dollars).

Outside of Injury Compensation, Simon has a specific interest in Defamation Law, and has worked on dozens of high profile cases, acting against all of the major media companies in Australia.

Since moving back to Sydney from Newcastle where he lived for 5 years, Simon is a regular Saturday morning golfer. He also has a keen interest in rugby league football, (he supports the Newcastle Knights and the Newtown Jets), and enjoys films (classics), theatre, live music, crime fiction, military history, Valiant motor cars, spicy food and "bad dancing".
